There's a great mobile blog posting feature on the vox blog. And guess what, anyone can post here! You can send post to the grad community blog from your mobile phone. Send, text message, pics, videos, audio right here to the GCC Blog and they'll go up on the blog. Got pics from your party? See something amazing? Want to send out the address to a great hidden spot? Send a message to the GCC blog.
All you have to do is message this address: 4ce6c3e66d3f4707@moblog.vox.com. I'm sorry the address is not more intuitive, it's a computer generated email. I suggest you add the address to your mobile phonebook so you can send messages whenever.
I went and check out Yogurt World a week ago and I must share this with you all. I was invited by a friend who is friends with several sociology grad students (Shout out to Tricia, Racquel, Nada, Normita, Rob, and Jingle!!). The place is heaven. A wall is lined with multiple delicious flavors ranging from smooth and creamy to tart and tangy. At the end of this line of yogurty goodness is never-ending supply of scrumptious toppings: Candy bar pieces, sprinkles, fresh fruit, lychee jelly, mochi balls and so much more. Words cannnot express the joy, you just have to try it.
Here's a video review (taken with my camera phone)
In case you haven't heard, there's a Wiki/Forum especially for grad students. Access it at : http://ucsdgrads.wikidot.com. The site was created by graduate students for graduate students so you can put anything you want on it. Link your blog or put up information about your event or organizations. Find a great restaurant? Create a page with a review. Did you finally find the answer to some bureaucratic issue? Make a page explaining the process. Have some stuff to sell? Post it in the forum. Looking for a roommate or a sublet? Post it in the forum. Looking for someone to go to a Padres game with you? Post it in the forum. I could go on but the possibilities are endless.
Here are some of the newest things to go on to the wiki/forum
